Hi! Welcome to my studio!

The first thing you should know is... my name's not Clara! My name is Claire Brennan, I'm an artist and surface pattern designer based in the UK. I'm also wife mother of three children, and dog mother to one.

Clara Mason is a studio name.. why not my real name? It's easy to explain - there is another artist working in surface design with the exact same name as me! So, Mason is a family name of my beloved late Grandmother and muse, and Clara is just a sweet variation of my own christian name. Also - I totally don't mind if you call me Clara, many people do!

This studio founded in 2019 and had a break over 2021-2023 as I set up my sister brand, Pretty Festive. After much thought on how the two brands would co-exist, I'm happy to bring Clara Mason back into the world.

I'm all things old and beautiful, my creativity has always been steeped in the past with an emphasis on timeless heirloom quality design.

I work in ink and watercolor, gouache, acrylic and pencil. Very occasionally digitally. Creating surface patterns for fabric prints, home decor, stationery and lots more and I've been licensed many times in each of these product categories.

During 2025 I am so happy and grateful to be launching a small range of stationery products, and showing my hand painted and hand made paper craft creations. I have been besotted with paper my entire life and I'm so excited to shre my new creations with you!
